Martin Lima de Faria was born in Sweden 1963, graduating in film direction from the National Danish Film School with the award-winning art film “Brainstorm”.

Martin works full-time as an visual artist in his studios in Uppsala and on the island of Gräsö in the Stockholm archipelago. He has had solo exhibitions in Sweden, Norway, Poland, USA and Japan of his fine art photography—miniature figures installed in everyday microcosms, X-ray images of miniatures traveling though his body, and art films of miniatures inside fruits blown to pieces by a Magnum gun.
His most recent exhibition at Art Hearts Fashion 2016 with Six Summit Art Gallery in New York was with the art film “Her Self”, the first in a series of contemporary portraits. This golden framed interactive film on a 13-minute loop, which was also shown at the Cannes International Film Festival Short Film Corner, was co-founded by The Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
